Orange Afternoon began with some noisy percussion and a Moog-type lead synth sound. When the song started taking shape, something about it reminded me of the artist M83, whom I really like, but as I worked through the arrangement - adding pads, slightly heavier drums and the melody in 5/4 over the 4/4 rhythm section - the piece took a turn towards Duke-period Genesis (which I also really like). From that point, Orange Afternoon became an experiment in texture and bombast, I guess.
The song was played by DJ/Radio Presenter Shaun Geraghty on his Prog Mill radio show in Staffordshire, UK, for which I’m very thankful. For as much as I love progressive rock and embrace its influence, I haven’t recorded any other pieces like this one since.

This EP was created using guitar, delay pedals and a looper pedal. It has an excellent experimental feel with great use of delay, layered sounds and feedback and Roofhare gets a huge range of sounds from the guitar. I really like the development of rhythmic sounds and interplay between the different delay effects which gives an ambience with a darker edge and great tension at times. Andrulian
