This is the “A-Side” (if such a thing even exists today) of my first single, released by Fwonk* Records on June 27, 2014 (fwonk.bandcamp.com/album/fw142-enjoying-the-undertow ).
A big ‘thank you’ to Gordon Chapman-Fox of Fwonk* for showing an interest in my music and allowing me to add the single to this compilation. Check out Gordon’s beautiful music as HeskinRadiophonic (heskinradiophonic.bandcamp.com) and the extensive Fwonk* catalog of amazing artists (fwonk.bandcamp.com).
Inspired by nautical poetry, I created rhythms and melodies that represent fish and animals of the sea for Enjoying the Undertow. There’s also a bubbling sound, meant to give the impression of being under water. This piece is probably the “poppiest” Isotherme has ever been. When I finished the song, I uploaded it to Soundcloud and sent a tweet linking to it to The Weather Channel. To me, it sounded like perfect background music for the local forecast on the television. I still believe this, but sadly,it sunk into the depths of The Weather Channel’s cyberseas without a trace. Like Stupid, Stupid, Stupid Heart (the “B-Side” released on Flux Gestation) this song was also mastered by Almark(https://synthoelectro.bandcamp.com) for its single release.

This EP was created using guitar, delay pedals and a looper pedal. It has an excellent experimental feel with great use of delay, layered sounds and feedback and Roofhare gets a huge range of sounds from the guitar. I really like the development of rhythmic sounds and interplay between the different delay effects which gives an ambience with a darker edge and great tension at times. Andrulian
